It has been reported that over 80% of the grass-fed meat sold in the USA, comes from other countries. Much of this product takes advantage of lenient country-of-origin-labeling that allows the package to say it is a product of the USA. We find these types of bureaucratic loopholes infuriating. 

 

We proudly source from what we believe are the best producers around the world. Imagine a network of producers just like your best local and regenerative producers. We have selected these amazing groups of producers from all over the globe that meet the same standards envisioned at a local level. Each individual package that we sell has a QR code on the back label that links to our website where you can find the Origin Story of that product, and the amazing work that those growers are doing to grow healthy beef and steward their land for future generations to have.

Multiple members of the Origin team started their careers working on American cattle ranches and direct-marketing amazing grass-fed meat from the most bucolic family ranches here in the USA. When we say buy from them first - WE MEAN IT! You can find lists of great growers here and here. 

 

The reality is that there is drastically more demand for grass-fed meat than there is supply available from these incredible ranchers. When it comes to satisfying the rest of that consumer demand we aim to be the absolute best choice possible.
